Shape Changing Mobile Phone

This video describe a study in which 187 participants watched and assessed 51 videos of an animated smartphone that changed its shape. The 51 videos systematically varied 7 parameters of shape change in order to investigate how different shape changes affect the user experience.

 

Design explorations of GHOST

Links to videos showing prototypes of the 1st generation of shape-changing interfaces, created during the first design bootcamp with ID students. The prototypes explore dynamic orientation, form, volume, texture and spatiality in one and two degrees of freedom.
